It works well.You can either place it in hot water for warmth or stick in the freezer for about 1 -2 hours to get soothing coldness. I keep mine in the freezer overnight and it comes out the perfect temperature to smooth over any aches and reduce any pain that occurs overnight. I just use an upward motion and it feels wonderful! It stays cold for at least 6 hours. I only keep the ball in the freezer.
